Bangalore the city I love

When a person visits Banguluru he or she is visiting a city designed to be great. In has a rich heritage of forts and palaces that are very well preserved and are the proof of a rich heritage and strong cultural heritage. In the present day Bangaluru the authorities have taken care to DESIGN a city that can become the nerve centre of business and indiustry. There was once a time when Bangaluru was known as the city well known for colleges . In fact it has a large number of engineering and medical colleges. These produced a large number of well trained and very qualified professionals.
Soon the IT companies spotted this highy talented and employable work force and set campuses in Banguluru. IT companies were not the only employers that started operations in this city. A large number of multinational and fortune 500 companies have also set up their bases here.

The environment is so conducive for business that numerous individuals and corporations have started their businesses here. This is a city with a large number of schools and a culture that boasts of a high level of education.
Leading companies like Huawei Technologies, Toyota Kirloskar, Intel, Infosys, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, General Motors, General Electric, Volvo, SAP Labs etc work out of Bangaluru. These and many more companies provide employment to thousands of workers and professional in the beautiful garden city.

Walking the roads I find a wide network of well laid out roads that keep the city going through out the year. The good weather all the year round only makes driving around Bangaluru and working in the city a lot of fun. Its a combination of good work opportunities and growth prospects that DRIVES the economy of Banguluru and the spirits of the people of Banguluru. Even though traffic has increased many folds over the years it is still a city where I enjoy driving immensely. There is so much green in the city that each drive is very relaxing and stress free. There are so many picnic spots and gardens that one is never short of ideas where to halt for a stopover or have a picnic. Even the well connected places like Whitefield, Mysore, Ooty give very good picnic options.
Since Bangulu is a old city that keeps reinventing itself to mold and grow with the times so  it keeps planing for the future . It is well connected by air due to the presence of an airport .Railway stations and bus services. Its interesting to find that so many different people CONNECT in so many different ways with this beautiful city. Some come here to study and others to work. What ever the reason people cannot help but fall in love with this beautiful city, its wonderful people and the climate. Its is like a air conditioned city with its climate regulated 365 days a year with a remote handled by mother nature herself.

My friend who is madeofgreat

When I was in school I had a friend who was very gifted. He could mimic, was a great orator and had a good stage presence. He aspired to join the film and movie industry and also try his hand at becoming a radio presenter. His father who worked in a TV channel was his greatest support and inspiration. However soon after the class XII exams his father passed away. My friend found his world crumbling around him. With his lone support and the breadwinner of the family gone he was left penny less. He had no money. Thankfully he got admission in a government college but as the college was far he would often borrow a bicycle from a friend to complete the 20 km journey. His father who was also his role model who had inculcated high morals and the values of being righteous so instead of going ticket less he preferred to walk or ride the bicycle to college. Even though he would be extremely tired after a day at the college he would do odd jobs at production houses as a temporary work.sell pizzas or deliver newspapers. He would do any kind of job that could help him earn some money. As we were busy in our college lives enjoying the nostalgia of growing up and transition from school to college. He was facing the hardships of the world trying to complete his graduation and at the same time working hard to realize his dreams. His hard work inspired a lot of us.He was truly #madeofgreat who was chasing his dreams day and night. Then after graduation he disappeared from the college scene and we lost touch. I often wondered where he was ? Had he given up his dreams? This question often popped up in my mind. Yet every time I faced a difficult situation I thought of him and tried to analyze the situation from his perspective as to how he would have reacted and analyzed the situation. Then suddenly I bumped into him one day. I was keen to know how he had been all this while. He told me he had been away for work and what about his dream related to the media world I asked him.. He was silent for a while and then he handed over a visiting card. It had the logo and name of a big production house. My eyes quickly searched for his name and found it written on the right hand corner and below it it read CCO- Chief creative Officer. Finally my friend had made it big but what is more important is that he had chased and realized his dream and now he was living it. Truly he proved himself to be #madeofgreat

Faster is better with Airtel 4G

Airtel has become the first company to bring its 4G connection to India In a nationwide launch it has introduced its 4G services to 296 cities across the country.A faster internet connection has been on top of the wish list of mobile internet users like me. My life revolves around my friends and we remain connected through social media. Be it shopping, making arrangements for a birthday party or exchanging notes, internet is our lifeline and we cannot help but crave for a better and faster connection. You may ask how things are gonna change with 4G ? Well to answer that the first thing that I did was to check  the connection speed myself.
Take for instance movie downloads or game downloads. These are typically big files and can take ages to download on 2G connection speeds. I remember when I was using a 2G connection. Pages took forever to open there were frequent disconnections and the page had to be refreshed several times. I dreaded the idea of having to download anything bigger then a few mega bites. Though friends told me that a movie could be downloaded in over a day but in my experience non uniform download speeds and frequently the downloads used to stop midway causing me to restart the process or resume with a download manager yet the overall 2G experience left a lot to be desired. Then came 3G and things got a lot better. As more and more people got on to 3G the 3G experience also started becoming ordinary. As a users requirements increase one begins to desire more and a faster internet. The 4G connection from Airtel offers not just faster internet connection speed but also a better service experience. Since Airtel has launched its 4G services in 296 cities it would mean a seamless 4G experience for its users in these cities. Also for commuters who travel a lot in between these cities the 4G speed advantage would never be lost.
The best part I like about the 4G service from Airtel is that it is coming in the price of 3G. For example I have a 3G data pack that I use. Just by virtue of being a 3G user of Airtel I am getting a 4G connection without any additional charges. Essentials for using a 4G connection are
1. A 4G supporting handset
2. A 4G SIM and
3. A 4G connections
Airtel is wooing its customers by offering them free 4G SIM's
Today if I have to get myself a 4G SIM from Airtel then I can get a FREE 4G Airtel delivered to me.Even the process of requesting a 4G SIM has been made seamless and all that I or anyone who wants a 4G SIM needs to do is just tweet #GetAirtel4G and Airtel would send the free SIM to you.
From browsing to downloading to catching the rerun of your daily soap everything happens faster on Airtel 4G . Airtel is opening up a new world of possibilities with this new connection speeds so what are you waiting for get on to the internet with 4G from Airtel

Hello to Good Health With Honey

When faced with the question of weighing the benefits of a balanced healthy diet over nutritional compromises of a crash diet I am transported back into time during my school days where our teacher used to tell us how important it is to study every day just as we eat our food every day. As we cannot eat a week’s food in one instance or a single meal and go without meals for the rest of the week similarly we must study everyday otherwise it would not be possible to pass the annual exams with good marks if we leave all our studies to be completed at the last minute during the exam days. The reverse analogy applies to our life as well that is it is very important to eat a healthy, balanced diet full of healthy and nutritious ingredients. Other wise going on a crash diet is just like not studying throughout the year and opening the books just at the exam time.
In the case of exams one can appear the next year of one fails but when it comes to our health our body is like a complex machine which does not come with replacement parts. If it begins to fail than we have a very difficult time recovering. Even though our body has a self-repairing mechanism but this is only till we provide it with healthy nutrients to build it self up. When we burden it with junk food and over indulgence it leads to doing work like an overburdened machine. Then going on a crash diet is just like waking up before the exams and then spending sleepless days and nights trying to study for a test. Just like this sleepless study session that puts the body and mind to tremendous strain. So my argument comes down to a basic fact that when we drive a car we ensure that we put the right fuel into its tank and get it serviced regularly. This ensures that the car remains functional and operates without causing any trouble for a long period of time. On
the other hand if you put any fuel in the car it is very likely that the car will end up in the garage and need an overhaul. This is similar to not eating the right diet and when an emergency arises then go for a crash diet. The proper usage of the car as described in the first situation is akin to having correct diet and healthy food as a daily routine. As modern day living puts a lot of stress on our bodies we should use naturally occurring products like honey on a daily basis. It boosts our immunity and increases our immunity to fight diseases .It has antiseptic properties that are very helpful for the bodies. A spoon of honey taken in the morning with warm water helps aid manage weight. Honey aids digestion and is a very good sugar substitute. There are so many recipes that use honey and they give us a good opportunity of incorporating them in our daily food. Some of the easy to follow and easy to use recipes can be found here Honey Diet and here

A Cricket Fan's Life with The UC Browser

As a True cricketing fan who is driven by the passion for the game of cricket that is exceeded with only one another thing and that is my loyalty as the follower of the Indian cricket team. That is my team I have had only one wish that nothing should ever come between me and my cricket.
This would be the wish of millions of cricket fans who live by the game of cricket and try to follow it with all sincerity. It is a sight to behold when the Indian cricket team wins any match or if we win a big cricket tournament it becomes a cause of national celebration. So taking cricket away is like cutting the lifeline of  a cricketing fan like me.
Today when I say this I have found freedom from all the restrictions that keep me away from my cricket. Earlier it used to be that you have to attend school so you cannot watch cricket.
Then it was you are supposed to be in time for college lab practical’s and have to go and attend them rather than watching cricket.
Then when I joined office it went something like this go and prepare the presentation, forget about cricket.
Perhaps  to answer my prayers that nothing should come between me and my cricket the people at   the UC Browser office designed a mobile phone browser that transforms every mobile users internet experience and making it much better.
When I installed it in my mobile phone I found the graphics loads quicker and were displayed in the browser with much more clarity . The streaming videos which used to take a very long time to load earlier now load and play seamlessly. Earlier it used to be that the bowler begins to start running up from his start up and the video would begin to buffer and take a long time doing so. Meanwhile at the stadium the batsman would have already hit the shot and I would be waiting. It was a game full of torture as I had to keep guessing the outcome of the next ball being balled.

Now watching cricket on the UC Browser is like I am watching the match in real time. Another feature that makes UC Browser the cricket fans favorite is the option of connection to the UCCricket .This is the section that keeps me updated as to what is happening in the game at that point of time. I can also get a ball by ball account of the game. I am experiencing that not just the cricket surfing part become more enriched but surfing for other information is also quicker. Normally one would expect that with a faster internet experience the internet bill would go up but I have experienced that the it has actually gone down as the UC Browser handles the data more efficiently and  provides the relevant information more quickly. Truly the UC Browser has enhanced my mobile internet experienced much more. .

simple steps for a wonderful skin

I am one of those who has always had a healthy skin but in my teen age years my skin became very oily, there were some dark spots and I experienced my first outbreak of acne. I felt that my world was coming crashing down when the first pimple appeared. What followed was a lot of creams and medication that only aggravated my skin as they had chemicals which reacted with my skin.
Then I got some relief when I started washing my face with rose water. The best way to soothe angry skin is to dab a swab of cotton in rose water and gently wipe the face with it.
Frequent washing the face by splashing it with cold water also helps to get rid of the oil and grime.
It is advised to splash cold water and not rub the face very hard as the facial skin is delicate.
I have also tried applying turmeric based home made face packs. One of my gramdma's favourite is one in which she would grind solid turmeric on a stone slab and keep adding a few drops of water so that a uniform paste is formed. She would then add a few drops of rose water in this paste . This paste has a very refreshing feel to it and gives a feel that the skin has been refreshed and rejuvenated.
Another sure shot formula that is tried and tested is the use of a piece of sandal wood . By rubbing it against a stone slab and adding water a mild and fragrant paste is formed. This when applied to the face not just makes the face smelling so good but clean and also makes the skin fairer. A few drops of rose water can also be added to the paste. This can be applied to the face or any part of the body exposed to the Sun. It is a great method to treat prickly and cures facial blemishes.

Another method that used to work very well for me was to mix a spoon of sandalwood powder ,one spoon of turmeric powder and a pinch of camphor powder .Apply the mix over the acne, the scars left bt the acne and the black heads. Leaving this mix on over night helped reduce the scars ,blackheads and acne.
However later I discovered the "VICCO Turmeric Cream" This is a foam based cream which is very easy to apply and use. The best part is that this being a herbal Ayurvedic product is free from harmful chemicals. Its a product that works magic on oily skin, pimples and blackheads.
"VICCO Turmeric Cream" is based on an Ayurvedic fomulation with microbial properties of turmeric. It is very useful over the counter treatment and medication that helps to prevent and cure any skin infections, rashes ,allergies etc. It also helps to stop bleeding of minor wounds and even helps in healing them quickly.
Together with the power of turmeric and the foam based cream helps to wash off any bacteria and microbes from the skin with each wash.

Morning in a new city

As I get out and close my hotel door room it creeks and I put on the golden and silver lock at the door. I glance out of the balcony. People are busy with their lives. I walk down the stairs and pass the reception. The room keys are still with me. Should I hand them over at the reception or should I take them with me? I ponder for a moment. Perhaps they are too heavy to carry or maybe there is nothing too valuable in the room so I extend my hand and hand over the keys to the reception guy.
Then I walk out of the hotel and take a turn  towards the right side that’s the direction where all those speakers are blaring.

To be contd….

On a journey of discovery

6.30 AM...
I wake up with the thought
A nine to five job is not my thing .

7.00 A.M
So while my heart pulls me in one direction my head tells me to take up and continue with a job.
So I pull myself out of the bed
To strike a balance between my heart and my head I take my heart on a journey where it travels the unseen places that I always longed to see. My head makes me work so that I can earn enough to pay the bills and undertake all the journeys that I dream off.
9.30A.M -6.30PM I am at the office

9.45 PM
Writing down all that I feel is my way of connecting with my inner self. Some of these writings are reflections of life around me.

Blue sky

Blue sky hangs over the Earth
Perhaps with a strong rope hanging from somewhere
Round moon stuck in the sky
Below it rotates on its axis

Our beloved earth

listen

Be quiet and listen
The sound of the waves
Lashing on the beach
The wind blowing through the dry leaves
Listen to the sound of passage of time
With each tick and every tock
of the watch it bids goodbye

Never to meet us again

I am not a poet

I am not a poet
though I write poems
in my spare time
I am not a poet by looks
as I do not have long hair
I do not dress in a kurta
but wear tees and jeans
I write about love
though I am not a poet
